PARENTS' WEEKEND SPORTING EVENTS USAFA will host a home football game during Parents' Weekend 2008 on Saturday, 30 August, against Southern Utah at 12:00 p.m. You may visit the USAFA Athletic Ticket Office site at http://goairforcefalcons.cstv.com/tickets/afa-tickets.html or call 1-800-666-8723 to purchase tickets for the game. Cadets are required to attend the football game and must sit with the cadet wing. Various other sporting events are available over Parents' Weekend, including rugby and soccer games. See the Schedule of Events for sporting events scheduled during Parents' Weekend. |

Parents and guests arrive at USAFA - Visitors entering the Academy via the North or South Gates will be asked to show their Base Access/Parking Pass and a photo ID. Please display your Parking Pass in your vehicle while on base. Guests should refrain from bringing large bags, coolers, backpacks or other items that will require additional scrutiny/searches from security personnel. Escort Badges will allow guests to ride the shuttle buses from the Field House parking lots into the Cadet Area. One family member may escort other guests with a single Escort Badge. Your cadet can obtain extra passes or badges. Lost parents may receive assistance at the Fairchild Hall bus stop (base of Core Values Ramp). Disabled/Handicapped guests may park in lot north of the parade field. Guests should bring their state handicapped placard. Shuttles with hydraulic lifts will transport guests to Cadet Area. |

Arnold Hall Information Fair - Doors open at 7:00 (coffee, breakfast items available). Parents, guests and cadets are invited to attend the USAFA Information Fair held in Arnold Hall Ballroom, and then stick around for lunch available from the Officers' Club catering, Subway and Godfather's Pizza. Base organizations will provide a variety of information on the Academy, including sale of BCT videos, free parent handbooks and an opportunity to talk with the Association of Graduates staff. Cadet Wing Parade - Mandatory for cadets and open to their guests and the public. The Parents' Weekend 2008 Cadet Wing Parade will take place on the cadet parade field. Seating at the parade is first-come, first-served. Please do not bring large bags/backpacks to the parade. Cameras, video cameras and binoculars are permitted - please be prepared to remove lenses for security inspection at the parade field entrance. Arrive early for airmanship demonstrations. |

The Hall of Excellence facility highlights the history of Academy sports, including intercollegiate, intramural and physical education. This exhibit (4,500 square feet) showcases the accomplishments of our graduates and proves the significance of athletics on Air Force officers past and present. Exhibits include general officers, political/industry leaders, astronauts, Olympians/professional athletes, women leaders, intramural/physical education, 29 intercollegiate sports, visiting academy displays, wall of champions, national team's wall/bowl games, and ultimately, interactive kiosks and a Walk of Honor. |

Squadron Open Houses. MANDATORY FOR CADETS. Each squadron will host an open house in the cadet dormitories, Sijan and Vandenberg Halls. You may meet with your cadet to tour his/her squadron dormitory and meet the Air Officer Commanding and Academy Military Trainer. Cadet squadrons 1-23 are located in Vandenberg Hall; cadet squadrons 24-40 are located in Sijan Hall. Following open houses, cadets may depart the Academy in the company of their adult guests. Cadets must report back to the Academy for accountability formations prior to the football game on Saturday morning. |

USAFA vs. Southern Utah Home Football Game - USAFA will host a home football game against Southern Utah on Saturday, 30 August at noon in Falcon Stadium. Click here for Falcon Stadium entrance policies. Following the football game, cadets are welcome to depart the Academy in the company of their adult guests for the rest of the holiday weekend. Jacks Valley Orientation Tour Guests must be escorted by cadet. - The Jacks Valley orientation tour offers you an opportunity to visit the site of the Basic Cadet Training (BCT) field training exercise. No privately owned vehicles are allowed in Jacks Valley. Cadets must escort their guests. Walking shoes and unopened, clear water bottles recommended. Shuttle buses will run to Jacks Valley from Field House parking lots every 15 minutes. The last bus will depart for Jacks Valley at 1:00 p.m., and the last bus will return from Jacks Valley at 2:00 p.m. |

USAFA Athletics Open House - The Air Force Academy athletic program is designed to improve overall physical fitness, teach athletic skills, and develop leadership qualities such as self-confidence, initiative, teamwork and the ability to handle pressure. To achieve its goals, the Academy offers one of the most extensive physical education, intramural sports and intercollegiate athletic programs in the nation. Because of the emphasis on athletics, the Academy provides its cadets some of the finest athletic facilities in the country. The Cadet Field House contains Clune Arena, a 6,000-seat basketball arena, a 3,000-seat ice hockey arena and a multi-purpose area consisting of an Astroturf infield surrounded by a 1/6-mile track. The Cadet Gymnasium houses 3 full-sized gymnasiums, an Olympic-size swimming pool and training pool, 30 courts for racquet sports, an indoor tennis complex and areas for weightlifting, gymnastics, wrestling, boxing and judo. The Falcon Athletic Center, a four-level structure, is the home to the United States Air Force Academy's Director of Athletics, administrative staff, sports medicine, the Fighting Falcons football team and the Hall of Excellence. This state-of-the-art facility contains a two-story, 23,000 square foot weight room with a 40-yard running track for weight training and exercising, a complete sports medicine area that contains a hydrotherapy area with a Swim-Ex and lap pool, a rehabilitation area and medical treatment/taping area The Hall of Excellence facility highlights the history of Academy sports, including intercollegiate, intramural and physical education. This exhibit (4,500 square feet) showcases the accomplishments of our graduates and proves the significance of athletics on Air Force officers past and present. Exhibits include general officers, political/industry leaders, astronauts, Olympians/professional athletes, women leaders, intramural/physical education, 29 intercollegiate sports, visiting academy displays, wall of champions, national team's wall/bow games, and ultimately, interactive kiosks and a Walk of Honor. Outside are 33 tennis courts, 5 team handball courts, 5 volleyball courts, an outdoor track and an additional 143 acres of athletic fields. Falcon Stadium, which can seat 46,700 people, is the site of home football games. |
